 Women’s struggle for survival in contemporary society

             Skills targeted - critical thinking, empathy, writing, listening, linguistic and communication, basic computer skills, women’s courageous fight to beat the system, the concept of success/failure, skills/qualifications/experience required when attending a job interview

            Aims  - to promote communication on the topics of difficult decisions/success and failure/skills, flaws and qualifications, express ideas and emotions in writing

            Students discussed on the topic: tough decisions, watch the film Erin Brockovich - a true story about a woman’s brave attitude and effort to beat the system - and concentrate on the skills and competences that women need to do this.

         Students ranked the sacrifices that women make in order to do the right thing and look for the definition of success/failure in contemporary society, thus bringing about the notions of skills/flaws/qualifications. Ss list the specific vocabulary for applying for a job and writing a letter of application.

              Students worked in pairs and decide what is the ideal job and write a job advertisement for it. Next, they give it to their partner with a brief CV and ask them to interview them for the job.
