From a collection of magazines, the students in pairs  cut out pictures and tried to determine whether in their opinion, the picture conveyed a sexual stereotype or not, and whether that stereotype could  badly influence the viewer. They studied the picture and wrote a summary of their position. They were also invited to find how the picture could be improved and made less sexist or grossly stereotypical.

Once the students had finished they explained and presented them to the other students from the group. They gave their opinions and reflections. A discussion followed. They were filmed during their presentation.

Their articles were compiled in a Powerpoint presentation.

The students realised how sexist or stereotyped some  pictures can be, even if at first sight, nothing is shocking.

Our mentalities are so biased that sometimes we do not even realise that we are manipulated and confirmed in stereotypesa

nd sexism.  However they also realized that some pictures are clearly neutral and do not present any usual stereotypes about men and women, or even try to break them.

They created a powerpoint presentation with their articles, thus improving their digital skills. They made oral presentations, which is always a great challenge for many pupils.  A video of their oral presentations was made.
