Balloon Debate
Students are asked to choose two professions, e.g. housewife vs working mother. They work in two groups and draw a picture of a balloon on the board, with someone jumping out of it; the balloon has a leak and it can only carry one person. Ss are to convince that their person should be the one to survive. Why should she stay and the other one should jump? Ss present arguments and take turns to present them.
Ss organise a balloon debate; they draw the balloon on an A3 sheet and write the arguments inside.
