OOD Female characters in literature - Women Open to Modern European Nations

Learning about the female figures in literature considered as role models with the help of different genres (horror, fantasy, sci-fi and detective novels)

The aim is to support especially girls’ self-esteem by offering them strong, independent role model and to further equality. Students read novels in which the protagonist or a central character is a woman. Character analyses are made by writing, discussing and drawing. The male and female characters are compared: how do they act, how are they described etc. We then switch the traditional roles: male protagonists become female and vice versa. What changes? We will come up with new characters that correspond with how students see themselves.
